We got home and puppy seemed a bit unsure about her surroundings. Of course, this was new to her. Farm to city. New smells, new sounds, no other dogs, and all that stuff that makes up a dog's world. We already had a crate (we got one huge one from Craigslist because I didn't want to keep changing crates as she grew) and needed to go to PetCo to get other stuff for her. We picked out a bunch of different goodies, bed and toys for her. I am glad Mitch came with me...I may have spent a bit more than I should have otherwise. For the first whole day, we could not decide on a name for our new pet.
The next day we decided she looked more like an Annie. We had discussed possibly naming the puppy either Starbuck or Annie depending on what she looked like. Annie seemed to fit her, so we asked Mitch's sister Jess if it was ok to name her Annie. We asked because she had a dog named Annie who died a few weeks prior. I loved that dog and so did Mitch and we thought our new puppy could be like her too.
Annie still has a lot to learn and is still a baby. Every time I get annoyed, I remind myself that she is still a little puppy. I am trying to get her potty trained, but it is difficult when I am gone so much of the day. She is very adorable, cute, annoying and sometimes stinky. I don't have a doubt she thinks I am her mom actually. She sometimes HAS to be attached to me.
My sister stayed over with us for a few days and took care of Annie. By took care I mean, she also spoilt her very much. This is my sister who has never really taken care of a dog before. She was super good and Annie loved having her and my brother in law over. She got all the attention she wanted and a lot of loving even from Sri Lanka while we were skyping my family. She has stopped whining at night and has sort of a routine down. I wish I could be done with the potty training piece of things because what I really want is to be able to snuggle with her in bed. Until she gets her bladder under control though, she gets to hang out in her crate and kitchen.

Oh, I forgot to mention, Annie doesn't like her puppy food. Instead, she wants to eat treats, carrots, tomatoes and bread sticks. And peanut butter. She is most definitely Mitch's dog also.
