Since Mitch really didn't want to get his nails done with me, I had him drop me off at my sister's. We were all going to have a girls' day out and get our nails done. My mom and sister had never gotten a mani pedi before, so this was awesome! Before getting our nails done, we had to pick up chair covers (I didn't tell Mitch about this), pick up some sort of slip to wear under my dress and other little things that usually tend to be forgotten until the last minute. While we were at JCP, we had to shop for sunglasses. I mean, why not? This is what happens when the girls get together....shopping for sunglasses just to take a fun photo with the wedding party.
All this shopping and nails took for ever! I was getting anxious because we were supposed to be at the church at 7 for our rehearsal. It was 7 when we were finally done with our nails. They looked sweet, but I HATE, absolutely HATE being late, so this wasn't sitting well with me. We get into my sister's car and head out, and the first thing sound we hear when my sister starts driving is the tire hitting something. While waiting for the stop lights to turn green, a woman comes up to us and tells us that our tire is flat. As in super flat and that we should stop and change the tire. Great timing!
We pull into a parking lot and sit there wondering what we shold do now. Here were a bunch of girls with nails just done standing around a car with a flat. My sister is crying...emotional as she is. I am laughing. I mean what else can I do right? Plus, this happened today and NOT on the day of the wedding, Things could be worse. SO I call my very dependable brother in law, my sister's husband, who is already at the church. All the boys are.
To make a long story short, the bro in law, Charith, comes and picks us pretty damsels in distress and drives off to the church. I arrive, fashionably late, to my rehearsal. I am NOT happy when Mitch bombards me with we have been waiting for so long. I am sorry we had a flat and couldn't fly to the church? Rehearsal went well and the girls and I minus my sister, headed out to the 400 Supper Club where the wedding reception was going to be so we could start decorating.
