I will make this post brief and mostly factual and now I am tired from the day. Right now Di and I are trying to make sure we take time for ourselves and spend some time together so she is currently failing at playing guitar on Rockband while I write this.
So we went to the pool and some people there are so entitled. There was this large Asian family apparently saving two spots on a packed day at the pool so there was nowhere even remotely shady for us to sit. Di sort of snapped at her when she told us the second time that there were saved seats. Typically I am not one to complain about such things but we pay a lot of good money to have access to that pool and one of the rules is you can only have 4 non-residents with you. I am pretty sure there were like 16 people with this lady douche.
Regardless, the water felt good to all who ventured in. Today the brave souls were me, Di, Steffie, and of course the fearless Alera. I say fearless because 45 seconds after inhaling a ton of water and nearly drowning, she wanted back at. It's odd how I can be so proud and humbled by a 19month old.
Now thus far Alera has had the best intentions with Zelda and genuinely tries to help her and love on her. However, she is still developing her motor skills and sometimes it is a bot rough so we are always on edge when Al is trying to "help" us with Zelda.
Well this is all to say that there was another first for us as a family today and that is Al and Zel riding in the van together. I have it on good authority that Alera was taking care of Zelda and making sure her blanket was straight and where it was supposed to be. I cannot handle the cuteness!
they are more than a handful. Today was a day of fun and I am exhausted but there were more than a few moments that made it all worthwhile. Al trying to be a good big sister was most of it!
