Once we got all that situated, we took the truck so we could take the bed over to my sister’s and the couches over to my friend’s apartment. Moving the couch and love seat down the stairs to the truck…I am not sure I can even explain the ridiculous process. Let’s just say, I am not a professional mover. It seemed to take forever to get the couch down. Mitch was not happy. In fact, not happy is an understatement.
Once we had the couch in the truck and got to my friend’s apartment, we realized it was going to take us even longer to get the couch up to the third floor. I stared at the stairs for a while wondering how in the world this was going to work. Not the best idea when your husband is just waiting for you to start getting the couch up the stairs. After a rather long process, we finally got the couch up to the apartment. Who ever designed this building didn't think about people moving couches. Ugh.
Once we had the couches moved to my friend's and the bed to my sister's, Mitch had to hurry back to drive to Buffalo, MN for dinner with his dad. I chose to stay and hang out with my sister and eat one last Sri Lankan meal before I left to live on the road for a few days.
I had just gotten home and a few minutes later, I saw Mitch drive in to the parking lot. When he got to the apartment (this around 10 p.m. I think), he gave me bug hug and many many kisses and wished me a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I also got dark chocolate covered pomegranates and Dove Dark Chocolates and a just the perfect birthday card. What was all this? I thought we had decided that we weren't getting each anything for our birthdays? But, what's a girl to say when given chocolates other thank you? :)
Since we didn't have a bed or couches anymore, we filled up the air mattress we had. A pretty deformed one because of the ripped seams on it, but we figured it was better than sleeping on the floor. So, at the end of a tiring day, here we were lying on air mattress in an empty apartment and you know what? We were happy.
