We asked our realtor to start a list for us of duplexes in the Minneapolis/St. Paul areas. We start getting the automated email with duplex listings. Some look ok and some are just plain gross. Why did you even put that up on the market without even trying to make it look like something people would want to consider? Honestly, with some of the places we saw, the only good thing you could do is to demolish the whole thing. We don't have that kind of money.
We saw a few places that we did want to go see, so we set up some showings with our realtor. The first Saturday, we went after work, we had scheduled to see 5 places. The first place on Fry Street. UNbelievably gross. HOW do people live like that? Clothes just everywhere, bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years and I saw some water damage on the ceiling too. No thanks. Let's move on to the next place.
While driving to the last property in South Minneapolis, Mitch and I decided to ditch from the area. We called our realtor and apologized for ditching on her, but we really didn't want to see the last place. We could barely drive there. Cars parked on both sides of the street, and two lanes of traffice still trying to get through while people walk on the street. Where in the world were we? I felt so uncomfortable and I know Mitch did too. I was so glad to get the H out of there. I could breathe again.
I guess back to the list it is. None of the houses today looked like something we wanted to own.
